Errors within the aviation industry and their consequences are very visible and have always been the focus of public and media attention. As a consequence a great deal of research has taken place into the underlying causes of aviation accidents. The findings from this research has helped avaition reduce accidents, improving its enviable safety record.

It is clear from such research that a majority of accidents are caused by human failings. As a result 'Human Factors Training' programmes were mandated by the regulatory authorities for all flight crew. The Principal Directors of Omega Training Solutions, Captains Dick Stark, Rick Thomas and Mike Lodge have put together a team of trainers all authorised by the UK Civil Aviation Authority to carry out this type of training.

Our experience as Training Captains in major European airlines, has given us a unique insight into the practical application of the academic research undertaken in this field. Working with other industries, where the performance of individuals and teams is critical to the effective management of safety, risks, threats and errors, we have utilised aviation's 'Human Factors' experience and applied it to their organisations.
