Captain Dick Stark
Dick was educated in Glasgow where he obtained a BSc in Mechanical Engineering at Glasgow University. After University he joined BOAC's
training scheme as a cadet pilot.
He spent 31 years with BOAC/British Airways flying worldwide on a variety of long haul aircraft. He retired from BA in 1999 as a Training
Standardisation Captain on the Boeing 747 fleet.
While in BA he helped develop and run a variety of training courses in the Human Factors area and was the Chief Instructor for BA's Core Course.
During his time in BA he obtained a BA in Psychology from the Open University and became a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society.
Upon retiring from BA along with Rick Thomas he set up Omega Training Solutions, a training company with the objectives of transferring the
'Human Factors' lessons from aviation into other Safety Critical Industries where 'human error' could have disastrous results as well as
delivering CRM solutions to the aviation industry. With the introduction of CAA authorised CRM training he became an authorised examiner
of CRM Instructors.
Presently he is one of the Principal Directors of Omega Training Solutions with particular responsibilty for Safety Critical Training.
